The Christmas holiday season is probably the most exciting and stressful time of the year! Having your home clean and working properly is a priority during this time. Leading up to Christmas it is a good idea to make sure that your plumbing is in order – you don’t want to have your drains clogged up just a the family arrives to stay for the week. There are several things you can do to avoid inviting a plumber over for Christmas!
Rinse greasy dishes under hot running water before putting them in the dishwasher or handwashing them. This will help to avoid your kitchen drain getting clogged. Once you have finished washing the dishes, let hot water run down the drain for at least 60 seconds in order to ensure that all the grease in the drain is completely washed away.
Make sure that small objects are kept out of the reach of small children on higher shelves in the bathroom. If children unknowingly knock something over and this is accidently flushed down the toilet you may have a blockage on your hands.
Keeping these things in mind will help ensure that the plumber does not need to be an uninvited guest at your home over the Christmas holidays.
